HEAD TO THE PEMBERTON FARMERS MARKET

There’s nothing like visiting a Farmer’s Market with plenty of handcrafted goods, baked treats, fresh produce, and more. The Pemberton Farmer’s Market is a great one to head to and it’s open on Fridays from 3:00pm – 6:30pm from June – October.

 

Not only is it located downtown, but you’ll also be spoiled for choice with the array of items that are available for sale.

TRY HORSEBACK RIDING

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a beginner, horseback riding is a must at Pemberton, BC. Not only does the area boast more horses per capita than any other area in British Columbia, but there are also miles and miles of trails for you to explore.

 

On these trails, you’ll get to take in plenty of gorgeous views, and feel the wind as you gallop through various terrain. There are also plenty of guided tours around the Pemberton area if you’re not sure where to get started. From hourly horseback rides to full and half-day rides, you’ll be spoiled for choice. If you’re up for an adventure, you can book guided horseback tours which are available for all ability levels and ages. They range from 1 hour to multi-day adventures.

HIKE VARIOUS TRAILS

There are plenty of hiking opportunities available and you wouldn’t want to miss out on the breathtaking scenery here. If you’re new to hiking, you can start off with the One Mile Lake Loop as it’s not only close to Pemberton, but it’s also an easy 1.45km loop around the lake. Nairn Falls is another relatively easy trail that’s about 3km out and back.

 

More seasoned hikers can head to Lumpy’s Epic Trail – a 9km loop trail that’ll take you to the top of Signal Hill Mountain, or Birkenhead Lake Wilderness Trail – a 4km easy to moderate trail that’ll take you through the shoreline of the lake with views of the mountains.

GO CAMPING

Camping is a must as there are so many private and public campgrounds around the area. Whether you’re looking to pitch a tent, or you’ve got an RV, there’s plenty of parks to do so. Garibaldi, Nairn Falls, and Joffre Lakes are just some examples of places to pitch your tent.

 

If you’re camping in Pemberton, you’ll want to make sure that you’ve done proper planning before embarking on your camping adventure. Remember to bring a tent and since it can get cold at night, you’ll also need to have warm clothing. Other items that you should bring include safety gear, a first aid kit, and food.

 

While Pemberton may be a great camping destination it’s not suitable for camping all year round. The best time to go camping is between May and September when it’s the warmest.

HIKE JOFFRE LAKES PROVINCIAL PARK IN 2021

When visiting Pemberton, you absolutely have to head to Joffre Lakes. It’s consistently been rated as the number one thing to do when you’re visiting Pemberton, and the hike to Joffre Lake can be done all throughout the year. Embark on this hike and you’ll be rewarded with views of Joffre’s glacier-blue water.

 

While hiking may be one of the highlights of Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, you can also camp and mountaineer to really soak in the views (camping reservations mandatory). From snow-capped peaks to rushing streams, you’ll be blown away by the scenery at the park. Don’t forget to also keep an eye out for the wildlife as there’s also black bears, mountain goats, mule, and coastal black deer roaming around the park.

 

Note: Currently the park is temporary closed due to COVID-19 and visiting is prohibited at the moment.

VISIT THE PEMBERTON MUSEUM IN 2021

Find out more about the history of the Pemberton Valley at the Pemberton Museum. You’ll learn about the beginnings of this village, and who were the ones to first settle at the foot of Mt Currie. Open daily from May to September, the Pemberton Museums also showcases artifacts that are specially collected and preserved.

 

You’ll find out more about who was attracted by the gold on the Fraser, and the lives of some of the other later residents. The museum even houses some fascinating historical homes that date from the late 19th century.
