Tourism Pemberton President, Mark Mendonca, officially handed over the Slow Food Cycle Sunday donation to Liz Mermaas, Pemberton Creek Community Garden Liaison and Sarah Jones, Stewardship Pemberton Executive Director today.
Liz and Sarah talked about how the Community Garden has expanded to include 75 plots one of which belongs to the Pemberton Food Bank – a much needed resource in the community. The Slow Food Cycle Sunday donation will be placed into the Pemberton Creek Community Garden contingency fund for now and will be used towards larger projects that they have planned in the near future.
